On what it means to have received the award, Dr. Tiryaki said, "It's a privilege to have been granted a Medal of Honour at the Parliamentary Society Assembly 2024. Being surrounded by leaders, experts, and change-makers, all committed to advancing meaningful dialogue on key societal issues, was inspiring. This honour reflects the efforts of many, and I accept it for all who have stood with me. We must continue to fight for a future where every human—no matter their background or struggles—has the opportunity to live with dignity and health."
As Chair of the ISAPS Humanitarian Task Force, he is part of the committee responsible for advising the Board on opportunities for humanitarian response and to develop a strategy to increase ISAPS' activity in this area.
