Hymenoplasty can be performed from simple techniques that include a simple suture of the hymenal vestiges to the use of procedures that can include flaps of the vaginal mucosa. Suturing in three planes is recommended to avoid dehiscence and ensure a hymenal orifice of less than 1cm through which the woman can menstruate until her first sexual intercourse after surgery.
